Why we farm
​
It is important to us to know where our food comes from and to be a part of that process. Farming is an opportunity to nurture the land and animals around us. We are fortunate to share our farm with our children and grandchildren. There is a lot to love about farming. Please contact us to set up a visit to our homestead to learn more about our operation.

How we do it
​
We farm on 20 acres in Prattsburgh, NY, and use combined farming. We strive to use all our resources from the land on the farm to their greatest potential. Additionally, every animal or crop supports the growth and prosperity of the farm as a whole. We strive to provide the most natural and safe environment for our animals and employ sustainable and ethical farming practices.
All our animals bring a positive effect on the land. For example, our chickens, ducks, turkeys and guineafowl just don't provide eggs and meat, they also eat insects, scratch through compost, fertilize pastures and entertain. In turn we provide them with organic whole grains, open pasture and protected boarders. It's important to us to do all we can to promote their wellbeing.
And nothing goes to waste on the farm. Compost collected from local schools, businesses and homes, combined with animal manure and wasted hay will all be put back into the soil to feed and nurture future crops. No hormones, no chemicals, no antibiotics are ever used on our property.
At Eggs 'n Honey Homestead you are buying directly from your farmer. We are out with the animals daily making sure you are getting only the best Farm-To-Table meat, honey, eggs and produce. When you buy from us, you are supporting a small, local family farm and local community.
